Sonoma County Supervisors have agreed to sell the site of the old county Water Agency on West College Ave. to a developer looking to create 200 rental apartments by 2022.

The sale to USA Properties based in Roseville will seek at least 168 apartments from 1 to 3 bedrooms, including 59 affordable units. Being inside the City of Santa Rosa, the plan would have to go through the city planning process. On top of this, the board also approved nearly 5 million dollars of federal funds to help build 173 rental units and more than 60 single-family homes across the county.

A new fire services proposal is being heard before the board of supervisors today.

A 4.6 million dollar plan is being proposed that would allow the Gold Ridge Fire protection district to manage 11 volunteer fire districts as the Fire and Emergency Services Department is being dismantled. This plan would see the volunteer fire companies remain independent for two years before consolidating with other agencies. The plan would also allow for money to go to Gold Ridge, Bodega Bay, Cloverdale and Geyserville fire departments for new staffing.

Online reporting is the preferred method at IntegrityCounts.CA but dialing the 800 number is also acceptable. Anyone can call and report anonymously including members of the public, county employees, and vendors.
